The Ultimatetraining circuit for creating transitional speed
reactive Linear Crossover training™
R.L.C.T.™ is designed to develop elite transitional speed, equipping players with the ability to react, accelerate, and outmaneuver opponents in the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of today’s game.
What is it that enables Connor to accelerate on the rush, accelerate out of the corners and the straight-a-ways, weaving in and out of high traffic without losing forward momentum?
In traditional linear crossover drills, there’s often a lack of resistance and an absence of multi-tasking skills that are crucial in real-game scenarios. PEP’s Reactive Linear Crossover Training™ (R.L.C.T.™) shatters these limitations by incorporating essential skating techniques and real-time reactive training circuits that mirror the high-speed, dynamic demands of today’s hockey. It is the ultimate circuit for players looking to gain a competitive edge in speed, agility, and puck control in tight, high-traffic areas.
Breakthrough Skating techniques for the Modern Game
- Stride frequency
- Stride length, and
- Skate-to-ice contact time.
These refined techniques lead to faster leg recovery, increased skating speed, and greater efficiency, enabling players to accelerate quickly in game situations that demand both precision and power.

The PEP Reactive Linear Crossover circuit (1 of more than 50 circuits) was created to develop elite level Linear Crossovers as it ‘forces’ the skater to develop a low stride to crossover ratio. This on-the-rush circuit is set up from the circle dot (inside the zone), down the ice to the top of the circle (in the other zone, Approx. 96-100 feet).
What R.L.C.T.™ Develops:
- Explosive Skating Movements
- Linear Speed & Lateral Agility
- Transitional and Separation Speed
These attributes are essential for players to maintain puck control and execute strategic plays in high-traffic areas of the ice. The R.L.C.T.™ circuit builds a powerful skating stride, incorporating resistance and a unique low stride-to-high crossover ratio—specifically tailored to the demands of modern hockey.
players learn to Accelerate with Precision & Agility
At the core of R.L.C.T.™ is the execution of a low stride-to-high crossover ratio. As players accelerate, they are challenged to move the puck through RCT Gear-speed lanes, reacting in real time while coordinating footwork, edge control, and hand skills simultaneously.
At full speed, players must maintain rapid reaction times, hitting acceleration points with precise puck placement, lateral agility, and forward momentum—all while keeping control of the puck in tight spaces.
Key Focus Areas
- Deception skills to mislead defenders
- Edge control for quick directional changes
- Acceleration points to load the edges and generate power
- Creating space with unpredictable movement
